Day 1 : Colombo Airport – Pinnawala – Dambulla
Upon arrival at Colombo International Airport, you will be warmly welcomed by our local representative or your designated chauffeur, who will assist with your transfer to your selected hotel in Sigiriya or Dambulla.
En route, enjoy breakfast and visit the renowned Pinnawala Elephant Orphanage, home to around 60 elephants, including adorable calves rescued from the wild. Here, you’ll witness these gentle giants being cared for, fed, and trained by the Wildlife Authority. You may also accompany them to the nearby river to watch their delightful daily bath.
Continue your journey to Dambulla. Upon arrival, check in to your hotel and enjoy a relaxing lunch. In the afternoon, visit the iconic Dambulla Rock Temple, a UNESCO World Heritage Site. Donated by King Walagambahu in the 1st century B.C., this sacred complex features five magnificent caves adorned with over 2,000 square meters of intricate murals and more than 150 statues of the Buddha—including a breathtaking 14-meter-long reclining figure carved from solid rock.
Later, explore a spice garden, where you’ll discover the aromatic treasures that have made Sri Lanka famous. Learn about the cultivation and processing of various spices used in traditional cuisine and healing.

Day 2 : Dambulla – Anuradhapura – Mihintale – Aukana – Dambulla
After breakfast and check-out, begin your journey to Anuradhapura, the first capital and undoubtedly the grandest city of ancient Ceylon. A UNESCO World Heritage Site, Anuradhapura is rich with historical and archaeological treasures.
Visit the sacred Sri Maha Bodhi-a sapling from the original Bodhi tree under which Prince Siddhartha attained enlightenment. Over 2,200 years old, it is the oldest historically documented tree in the world.
Explore the Brazen Palace (2nd century B.C.), where 1,600 stone columns remain from a once-magnificent multi-storied monastic residence. Admire the iconic Ruwanweliseya stupa, famed for its original “bubble shape,” and the serene Samadhi Buddha statue (4th century A.D.), depicting the Buddha in deep meditation. Discover the Isurumuniya Rock Temple (3rd century B.C.), celebrated for its exquisite rock carvings.
Continue to Mihintale, the revered cradle of Buddhism in Sri Lanka. This sacred site is dotted with shrines and ancient dwellings. Ascend the grand granite stairway of 1,840 steps to reach the summit, offering panoramic views of the surrounding countryside.
Next, visit the majestic Aukana Buddha statue, considered the most magnificent and undamaged standing Buddha in Sri Lanka. Carved during the reign of King Dhatusena in the 5th century, this 12-meter-high masterpiece radiates spiritual grace. The name “Aukana” translates to “Sun-eating,” reflecting its divine presence.
After this enriching day, return to Dambulla for your overnight stay at a selected hotel in Sigiriya or Dambulla.
Day 3 : Dambulla – Sigiriya – Polonnaruwa – Dambulla
Rise early and enjoy a refreshing cup of tea or coffee before ascending the legendary Sigiriya Rock Fortress, a UNESCO World Heritage Site built by King Kassapa (477–495 A.D). Known as the “Lion Rock,” this majestic citadel rises 200 meters above the jungle and was once the innermost stronghold of a 70-hectare fortified city. Explore its ancient moat, ramparts, and beautifully landscaped gardens—including the famed water gardens. Climb the spiral stairway to view the exquisite frescoes of the Heavenly Maidens, painted in natural earth pigments on plaster and nestled in a sheltered pocket of the rock.
Return to the hotel for a leisurely breakfast. After lunch, embark on a guided tour of Polonnaruwa, Sri Lanka’s second ancient capital and a UNESCO World Heritage Site. Built in the 11th and 12th centuries A.D., this historic city reveals the grandeur of a bygone era. Visit the ruins of the Royal Palace, the Gal Viharaya with its four stunning Buddha statues in upright, seated, and reclining postures, the Audience Hall, Lotus Bath, and the statue of King Parakramabahu. Marvel at the Parakrama Samudraya, a vast reservoir built by the king himself. Explore sacred monuments including the Shiva Temple, Lankathilake, Watadage, Galpotha, Kiri Vehera, and the remains of a former Temple of the Tooth Relic.
Day 4 : Dambulla – Matale – Kandy
After breakfast and check-out, begin your scenic journey to Kandy, a city nestled amidst lush hills and famed for its rich heritage and vibrant culture.
En route, stop in Matale to visit a fragrant spice garden, where you’ll be introduced to the aromatic treasures that have made Sri Lanka world-renowned. Learn how spices are cultivated and processed, and enjoy a live culinary demonstration. Guests will receive hands-on training in preparing a traditional Sri Lankan curry-followed by a tasting session. To complete the experience, indulge in a 5-minute neck and shoulder massage with soothing herbal oils.
Upon arrival in Kandy, check in to your hotel and enjoy lunch. In the afternoon, visit the magnificent Peradeniya Botanical Gardens, originally designed as a royal pleasure garden and later expanded by the British. Spanning 147 acres, the gardens showcase an extraordinary collection of tropical flora, towering palms, and vibrant orchids.
Continue with a city tour of Kandy, the final royal capital of Sri Lanka and a UNESCO World Heritage Site. This storied city is steeped in legend and tradition. Drive around the serene Kandy Lake, built by King Sri Wickrama Rajasinghe in 1798, and explore the bustling Kandy town and bazaar, where local crafts and culture come to life.

Day 5 : Kandy – Nuwara Eliya
After breakfast and check-out, begin your journey to the cool highlands of Nuwara Eliya, often referred to as “Little England” for its colonial charm and misty landscapes.
Before departure, visit the serene Udawatta Kele Sanctuary, perched on a hill behind the sacred Temple of the Tooth Relic. Known as the Royal Forest Park of Kandy, this lush sanctuary invites nature lovers to explore its tranquil depths. Trek through dense forestland home to diverse wildlife including fishing cats, palm squirrels, black-naped hares, and deer. Towering canopies shade the trails, and the sanctuary’s catchment nourishes nearby Kandy Lake.
Once graced by the Royal Court of Kandy, Udawatta Kele is dotted with ancient Buddhist temples, a garrison cemetery, water pond, Kodimale Mountain, and the mystical Senkanda Cave-each echoing centuries of spiritual heritage.
Continue your scenic drive to Nuwara Eliya, pausing en route to admire the cascading Ramboda Waterfalls. Next, visit a tea plantation and factory, where world-renowned Ceylon tea is cultivated. Day 6 : Nuwara Eliya – Udawalawe – Kataragama
After an early breakfast and check-out, begin your journey toward Udawalawe, with a stop en route at the mystical site of Buduruwagala.
Hidden within a forested enclave, the Buduruwagala rock sculptures date back to the 9th or 10th century. The central figure-a towering 15.5-meter-high Buddha-is flanked by two majestic Bodhisattvas, each standing 12 meters tall. As you approach through the jungle, the serene face of the Buddha emerges dramatically through a dark arch of trees, offering a moment of quiet awe.
Continue to Udawalawe National Park for an exhilarating jeep safari. Spanning over 30,000 hectares, this dry zone sanctuary lies between the Udawalawe Reservoir and the Walawe River, framed by the rolling escarpments of Balangoda, Kalthota, and Haputale. Declared a national park in 1972, it boasts rich biodiversity and stunning landscapes.
Udawalawe is renowned for its thriving elephant population, often seen in playful herds-bathing, feeding, and roaming freely. The park also shelters spotted deer, sambar, barking deer, langurs, water buffalo, and jackals, along with a variety of reptiles, amphibians, and over 78 butterfly species. Unique bamboo groves add to the park’s ecological charm.

Day 7 : Kataragama – Galle – Ambalangoda – Kosgoda – Colombo
After an early breakfast and check-out, begin your coastal journey to Colombo, with enriching stops in Galle, Ambalangoda, and Kosgoda.
Your first stop is the historic city of Galle, renowned for its beautifully preserved Galle Fort, a UNESCO World Heritage Site. Originally built by the Portuguese and later fortified by the Dutch, it stands as South Asia’s most iconic sea fortress. Stroll through its colonial-era streets lined with charming boutiques, heritage buildings, and windswept beaches. After lunch, enjoy leisure time to explore the fort’s architectural gems, shop for Sri Lankan gems and jewelry, or visit the Dutch Hospital Shopping Complex, now transformed into a stylish hub for dining and retail.
Continue to Ambalangoda, a picturesque seaside town famed for its traditional mask carvers. These vibrant masks are used in ritual dances and folk performances, reflecting centuries of cultural artistry. You may also visit the Old Dutch Church, a quiet remnant of colonial history.
Next, visit the Kosgoda Turtle Hatchery, operated by the Wildlife Protection Society of Sri Lanka. This conservation center protects several species of sea turtles, including the endangered hawksbill. Thanks to the goodwill of local fishermen who donate turtle eggs, the hatchery has successfully released over 100,000 hatchlings into the ocean since its inception.

Day 8 : Colombo – Hometown Departure
After breakfast, enjoy a half-day city tour of Colombo, Sri Lanka’s vibrant capital. A city of contrasts, Colombo blends colonial charm with modern dynamism. Skyscrapers rise beside centuries-old landmarks, creating a skyline that tells stories of transformation and heritage.
Visit highlights such as the 100-year-old clock tower, British-built colonial buildings, and the bustling Pettah Bazaar, where you can shop for local bargains. Explore a Hindu and a Buddhist temple, and drive through elegant residential areas showcasing stately homes. Stop by the Bandaranaike Memorial International Conference Hall (BMICH)—a striking gift from the People’s Republic of China.
After a brief shopping break, transfer to the airport for your departure flight home, carrying with you unforgettable memories of Sri Lanka’s beauty, culture, and warmth.
